Point primary domain at subdirectory

Seems like a simple, basic, obvious thing. But the cpanel doesn't obviously provide a way to do it, and forum search doesn't seem to answer the question either. And there's no actual *documentation*, so this is my last resort.

I want my primary domain to point at a subdirectory (for web serving purposes). How do I do that?

Thanks.

Hello Gisborne,

I don't think there is an option in cPanel to make your main domain to point it to a sub directory. You may post a ticket to the support team to get it done by editing the vhost entries of your domain on the server.

Thanks for that. Seems a basic thing to want.

Would you define "post a ticket"? There's nothing in cpanel about that.

Hello Gisborne,

Please email support [at] hostingrails [dot] com to get it solved. When you send an email it automatically opens a ticket on our helpdesk. Thank you.

Gisborne, the easiest way to do this without having to email support is just to setup your app in your root folder and create symlinks.

However, in your situation - are you wanting to use Apache's RewriteBase directive?  What do you want showing in the browser URL and what dir do you want it to load?
