Django on Basic hosting

Hi

I'm starting to do a little investigation into Django, and remember reading when I signed up for a Basic hosting plan that HostingRails supports Django hosting.

Looking at the comparison table between the different plans, it says that the Basic plan supports Django as "optional". What's the process for taking this option up, and is there any additional cost?

Thanks
Jon

Hi Jon - yes you need to have enough dedicated memory in your account to hold whichever Django application server you're using.  If you're using a semi-dynamic fastCGI then you don't need dedicated memory unless our admins see your processes always active and tell you otherwise.

So if I'm just wanting to develop a small test app and see how it runs, which would be fine to use with FastCGI, I can just have a play for now and upgrade things as and when needed?

Sure - that sounds fine.  Let us know how it goes.  Cheers, ~William
