Allowing users to change their email passwords

Hi,

Does HostingRails have a facility to allow users to change their own email passwords?

Thanks in advance for your help in this regard.

Sure - go to your cPanel -> Mail and you change change the password of any mail account through the corresponding selection.  Let us know if you still need further assistance.

Hi William,

Thanks for your response, but I think my question might have been a bit imprecise. I know that I could change all the email passwords for our email users myself, but I wondered if there was any way to let each email user change their own email password without giving them full administrative rights to the web site via cPanel - i.e. a user should only be able to change his/her password, and not do any of the other web-site admin functions.

Hello Gopal,

EDIT:  Sorry - its not possible to let other users who don't have access to your cPanel to change their email password.  It would be a nice feature but cPanel unfortunately doesn't allow it.

Gopal, yeah see Kumar's edit above.  Sorry for the confusion.  Perhaps cPanel will include the feature in a future release.

When you login to email via yourdomain.com/webmail with original password, the next screen allows the logged in person to change their password, and other options.  While this won't help anyone who can't remember their original password, it will help the admin not have to issue new passwords for people who can login.
