Druby crashing and Mongrel pids missing

So far I have had two rounds of my Drubys close down on their own without any warning
And in my log directory the pid files for my mongrels are no where to be seen but still run just fine..

I am looking for signs where it says they desided to crash or just stop but I dont see anything yet.

I know someone tinkered with an auto ping every hour or so in the past. Any ideas of this or other uses of the methods to keep this ship running ?

Well here are the only two errors I get
DRb::DRbConnError (druby://0.0.0.0:***** - #<Errno::ECONNREFUSED: Connection refused - connect(2)>):
NameError (uninitialized constant Mongrel::Uploads):

Hey sorry for the delay on this. I'm not sure whats causing the issue.  We are actually encouraging the use of:
http://god.rubyforge.org/

If its not already installed on your server, please open a support ticket and have them install it.
